The sculpture of Michel Francois starts with very simple, common objects and then transforms them into magical concoctions. By manipulating the objects, they are slightly abstracted and then brought together into groups, their identities are transformed. In one work, simple white dinner plates are broken and hung together into something that resembles a musical instrument or a chandelier. In another work, basic clear plastic bags are filled with water and joined together, their almost invisible appearance contradicted by their obvious weight.
