Lúcia Koch | La temperatura del aire

08.10.2015–07.02.2016

Lúcia Koch modifies the perception of the CAB spaces with silk curtains, plays of light and chromatic transitions

The Brazilian artist Lúcia Koch uses architecture, light and perception to conceive her interventions in different spaces using translucent materials, filters or openwork panels, interventions with which, through interaction with the spectators, manages to modify the usual coordinates of the places where he performs, creating a tension between interior and exterior and challenging the limits of particular spaces.

Koch uses the dimensions of the space and delves into the incidence and perception of light, subtly altering it through elements that transform the surfaces of the building’s walls, integrating into the exhibition space.

For her proposal at the CAB, the creator uses six large silk curtains with different color intensities to create a succession of translucent planes of chromatic transitions, which can be “crossed” by the visitor. In this way, she establishes a dialogue between the exhibition environment and the viewer that re-signifies the space through the experience of perceiving oneself in a new context.
