Sales Director

Working in team with the Artists Liaisons and in direct contact with the artists for studio visits and selling strategies, the right candidate will have commercial awareness as well as a true enthusiasm for contemporary art and the art market. The Sales Director will actively engage in selling artworks and cultivate relationships with clients on an international level. Representing the galleries in Berlin and Madrid at exhibition openings, events and art fairs worldwide, they will also oversee the entire sales procedure of both gallery locations. Proven sales record within a gallery of the same league is essential.

This can be a 4 days a week position if not affecting the results. Salary is commensurate with experience and include commissions.

Gallery Manager

Working directly with the owners of the gallery, the right candidate will be overseeing the day-to-day running of the gallery and its team in Berlin, setting up systems and protocols to ensure the smooth operation of the company. The Gallery Manager will be guiding the entire team of the Berlin gallery to run its activities. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a gallery management position or comparable role to be considered.

The role includes, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:

- Coordination & supervision of the team and freelancers of the gallery
- Maintain overall timeline and gallery calendar
- Event management for internal and external openings, dinners and other events
- Travel bookings and preparation of travel itineraries
- General office work / correspondence
- Administrative activities of the daily business of a gallery

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experiences:

- Several years of experience at the highest international level in galleries and institutions
- Extensive knowledge of current developments in contemporary art and the art and the international art market
- Excellent communication, organizational and team skills
- Sense of responsibility, structured and efficient
- Confident handling of common MAC, Microsoft Office applications and the Adobe Suite
- Very good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken

This can be a 4 days a week position if not affecting the results. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Artist Liaison

Working in team with the other Artist Liaisons and the Sales Directors of the gallery, the right candidate will be supervising the exhibitions of their artists inside and outside of the gallery, archiving their works as well as updating their textual and visual information. Working closely with the Production Manager, they will update and monitor the gallery inventory with new works and inform the Sales Team proposing artworks available and relevant with the activities and events of the gallery. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a gallery in a position comparable to the one considered.

The role includes, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:

- Liaising with gallery artists
- Coordination with the Operation & Communication Team related to the artists
- Organisation of exhibitions and gallery projects
- Communication with international museums and other institutions

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experiences:

- Fluency in German & English
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Proactive and positive attitude
- Experience working with Adobe suite/FileMaker/Artsy

Registrar

Coordinating all logistics ranging from managing imports and exports, to planning and supervising all movements of artworks within and outside of the gallery, the Registrar will work in team closely with the Production Manager and other Registrar of the gallery to conduct inspections and condition reports, generate necessary paperwork, and record property and location information in the gallery’s database. Acting as the first point of contact for all incoming and outgoing art, while also working closely with the Sales team and the clients of the gallery. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a fine art shipping company or similar and must have detailed knowledge of customs and tax regulations.

The role includes, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:

- Planning, coordination and handling of all domestic and international transports
- Warehouse logistics of internal and external warehouses
- Proper packing for transport and storage
- Instruction and cooperation with assistants, technicians and art-handlers of the gallery
- General inventory maintenance and updating of database with input of all relevant information
- Coordination and cooperation during set-up and dismantling, installation / de-installation of works in the gallery and at fairs
- Technical and logistical support of the exhibitions on site
- Handling of insurance claims and condition inspections of the works

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experiences:

- Several years of professional experience in the field of art at an international level
- Very good knowledge in the field of art handling, packaging, handling, storage of artworks
- Detailed knowledge of import/export and tax regulations
- Flexibility and willingness to travel
- German as native language or on native level, very good English
