Kailiang Yang

Kailiang Yang’s recent works comprise ethereal and serene urban landscapes, often rendered in dampened shades of greyish blue. Like a contemporary flaneur, his delicately rendered compositions exude an intimate knowledge of the places they depict. Yet these dreamlike paintings contain no traces of people or commerce, reveling instead careful attention to the surfaces and textures of urban landscape.

Kailiang Yang (b.1974, Shandong)' s work has been exhibited in KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin, Germany; Kunsthaus Hamburg, Hamburg, Germany; ZOYA Museum, Modra, Slovakia; Kunstmuseum Magdeburg, Germany; National Museum of China, Beijing, China; and Shandong Art Museum, Shandong, China.
