Ystad konstmuseum presents Växter, ko och rosa moln, a solo exhibition by Cecilia Edefalk showcasing a selection of watercolours created during her travels along the European coastline in the late 1970s. Originally commissioned as illustrations for a guide to coastal flora, the works emerged from four years of travel with a botanist through Sweden, Spain, Italy, Wales, and Portugal. Although the publication was never realised, the watercolours remain an important body of work, balancing botanical observation with poetic abstraction.
Alongside these early studies, the exhibition includes a selection of paintings that reflect Edefalk’s enduring engagement with nature. Together, the works reveal a practice shaped by close observation, spirituality, and a deep sensitivity to the relationship between humans and the natural world.
